Project Description
The project, which is officially called “Concession for planning of construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the R1 expressway: R1: Nitra – Tekovské Nemce and Banská Bystrica – northern bypass”, involves construction of 52 km of the expressway divided into four sections:
Section 1: Nitra, west – Selenec, 12.6 km
Section 2: Selenec – Beladice, 19 km
Section 3: Beladice – Tekovské Nemce, 14.3 km
Section 4: Banská Bystrica – northern bypass, 5.7 km
The construction was realized as the first PPP project ever undertaken in Slovakia. The lenght of expressway is 52 km.
Technical data: Number of structural units: 850, Roadway area: 1 100 000 m2, Bridge objects: 84, Total lenght of bridges: 6 843 m, Number of overpass intersections: 6, Noise barriers: 41 in total lenght 32 611 m, Frame and retaining walls: 27 in total lenght 4 362 m, Main crossings: 10 , Overpass: 53 , Underpass: 12, Large culverts: 14, The project involved the renewal of one of the rail tunnel.
The longest bridge is Building Unit No.209 with a total length of 1,165 m, which is carried out by demanding technology of pull-bearing monolithic structures
